UnboxEd- Afterschool Instructor and Game Master - (Teach Dungeons & Dragons to Kids)

Position Summary: UnboxEd is a 501(c)3 nonprofit that uses tabletop games to better engage low-income students. We teach four classes: STEMM (the extra M is for Magic), Entrepre-newbies, Living History and Social-Emotional Storytelling. Learn more about us at www.unboxeclassroom.com.

You will likely start out as an Instructor/Game Master in the SES class, unless you have moderate experience in one of the other three fields. There you will stoke curiosity and imagination, reward communication and teamwork, and build community and confidence, all through playing games.

We primarily use Dungeons & Dragons, Spire, The Quiet Year, Ten Candles, or Dread, but can fly with any RPG System you are familiar with. We also use kid-accessible board games to reinforce specific skills.

This job CAN be a load of fun. You create the fun. Your job is to teach the kids how to create the fun. But there are challenges that come with students who may struggle with communication and emotional regulation. Bring patience, fairness, and a reflex for laughter.
