Position Summary -
The Network Director oversees the Learn All the Time Network at the Andy Roddick Foundation, building the network’s reputation as an effective out-of-school time (OST) intermediary and supporting the OST programs across the Central Texas community.
Essential Functions -
Operations and Management
Direct all network services for partners including, but not limited to, field coordination, professional development, peer learning and networking, quality improvement and innovation, evaluation, and advocacy.
Supervise full- and part-time roles, interns, AmeriCorps VISTAs, and contractors as assigned. Attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performance team members, empowering them to elevate their level of responsibility, span of control, and performance. Assign projects to team and monitor progress. Conduct performance reviews. Provide supervision, coaching, and support over daily activities and longer-term goals.
Oversee the operational work of the intermediary and evaluate its impact. Work with team to develop systems to ensure consistent, high-quality project management. Provide leadership in development of inter-team communication, cohesiveness, and accountability.
Prepare and manage budgets and submit and track revenue and expense. Manage contracts and purchasing in alignment to the approved budget.
Ensure maintenance of accurate records of network partners and activities and oversee invoicing processes for partnership renewals.
Lead and participate in year-round quality improvement and evaluation efforts around network activities.
Network Growth and Strategic Development
Leverage resources to sustain and expand the network of providers by overseeing recruitment and engagement activities.
Research, develop, implement, and evaluate new strategies and activities to engage partners, further program goals, increase coordination and effectiveness across the community, and meet the evolving needs of the OST field.
Grow the Andy Roddick Foundation’s (ARF) reputation as a leading OST intermediary. Represent ARF, network partners, and the local OST community in local, state, and national meetings and coalitions. Continue to build organizational capacity to enhance strategic contributions to the field.
Share-in knowledge dissemination, reporting, and communications.
Develop and direct workgroups, committees, and advisory councils as appropriate.
Support fundraising such as identifying and sourcing sponsorship opportunities, supporting grant requests and reports, and providing presentations.
Develop strategic plan and work plans for the network using partner input and feedback and utilizing workgroups as appropriate.
Quality Innovation and Evaluation
Set professional development schedule for the year and assigns management of sessions to staff. Provide training sessions as appropriate.
Direct evaluation activities, including network-wide youth impact evaluation. Prepare evaluation plans and ensures timely dissemination of findings.
Coordinate evaluation logistics with school districts and maintains training on school district data systems.
Direct grantmaking activities within the network as available; includes overseeing strategy, application, reviews, and monitoring.
Keep abreast of current research activity in the field. Maintain certifications and trainings on relevant program quality assessment as needed,
Communications and Advocacy
Ensure consistent, clear communication between the network and its partners including, but not limited to, conversations, emails, newsletters, meetings, website, and social media.
Host regular meetings with partners to ensure transparency and collaboration.
Oversee successful implementation of advocacy events such as Breakfast of Champions, Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week, Lights on Afterschool, and National Summer Learning Week. Design and execute new activities as appropriate.
Work closely with Chief Program Officer on locally advocacy strategies, leading efforts and assigning work as appropriate.
Other Duties
Promote the ARF’s mission, values, and organizational policies to team and other internal and external parties.
Works within Program Department budget and follows financial protocols.
Support Program Department strategic planning and development of work plans.
Provide support to other ARF departments and activities, especially around large events and programs.
Active engagement with ARF all-staff and department meetings, planning, team-building, and learning activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Reports to Chief Program Officer
Qualifications and Requirements -
Bachelor degree in a related discipline required, advanced degree in a related discipline preferred, or equivalent experience.
10+ years of experience and progress responsibility in OST, youth development, and/or system building programs; 4+ years experience supervising staff, including contractors and part-time staff, and managing projects.
Understanding OST and youth development field; conversant in latest research and best practices in the youth development field.
Skilled problem-solver and self-starter that is highly adaptable and collaborative. Ability to be self-directed and decisive.
Excellent oral and written communication and facilitation skills, organization skills, and attention to detail.
Demonstrated community engagement and relationship management capabilities; ability to lead partners in collaborative decision making.
Comfortable in an environment that embraces evaluation and quality improvement.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information and research and work with mathematical concepts such as basic statistics.
Comfortable working with a diverse group of individuals to meet project objectives within established timelines; can effectively move from strategy to details in a seamless way.
Superior interpersonal skills that enhance the ability to connect and build relationships with community partners.
Strong preference for experience developing, supporting, or leading cross-sector collaborative initiatives.
Experience working with evidence-based practices preferred.
Experience developing and managing program budgets preferred.
Excellent computer skills and proficient Microsoft office suite programs, Google suite, Zoom, and other technology platforms.
Fundraising experience preferred, including securing sponsorships and writing and reporting on grants.
A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
Ability to work occasional flexible hours (e.g., until 6pm) to accommodate OST programming required as well as some evenings and weekends as needed.
Andy Roddick Foundation offers a hybrid work environment, full coverage health insurance for individuals, 401k match up to 3%, generous time off, flexible schedules, and a sabbatical leave every 7 years. The starting salary for this position is $70,000.
